Sponsors are speaking

12 July 2019

We are Hans, Mariska, Veerle, Yinthe, and Noor (our sweet Golden Retriever pup of 10 weeks old).

A few years ago, we were introduced to the work of the For a Change fieldworkers in our store (Jeans Style in Goes), and we spoke about the work in Malawi. The fact that the Foundation is so closely involved with the local people inspired us, and soon after this conversation, there was a little donation money box at the cash desk. It did not stop here, we were still regularly in contact with the fieldworkers when they were in Holland. Their enthousiasm, involvement and the 'Christian serving' for the Malawian people in Kwanjana touched us. We kept track of them in ongoing projects and future projects.

After some time, we were told about the plans to start a sponsoring programme in the future. At the end of last year, we heard that the programme was going to start. For us, this was a very fine opportunity to support the foundation. In our own family, we see the value of good education, our oldest child is at nursery school since the end of January. We are very happy that, through the sponsoring programme, we can provide our sponsor child with the opportunity to go to school as well, via the For a Change Foundation.

We decided to support Anastasia. We have two girs of the same age, so this is extra special. Because of our monthly contribute, Anastasia can go to a school, where the Bible has a central place. We deeply appreciate the direct contact with her. It is so nice to see videos and fotos of her and the other children.

The above was the most important reason to choose for the For a Change Foundation. Because the fieldworkers of the Foundation are present in Malawi, the contact is quick, direct and personal. To give an example: recently, there were heavy floodings in Malawi, which also affected the Kwanjana village. Anastasia lives there too, with her mother. The very same morning, we got a Whatss App message, that Anastasia and her mother were both fine and safe, but that their home collapsed. It is nice to receive a message about such situations. Because of this, we were able to consider extra financial support.

Our two little girls pray regularly for Anastasia. We hope and pray that she will develop herself because of the support and the education of the For a Change Foundation and that she may discover and use her talents.
