Another home

For a Change Nursery school is not just a school, but also a home for the children around Kwanjana village in Thyolo. Children come to this place to learn but also to receive something which most of them miss in their homes, which is love. Most children come from broken homes, but once they reach For a Change ground, they are transformed. They put off that sad home clothing and put on something new which they are given at For a Change school.

Children are taught about God. They are taught about Gods love and how they can relate with others with the love God gave us. Children are taught morals and values that help them relate better with the people outside the campus but also other children. Not only that, children are also taught ‘how to pray’. The importance of prayer and what prayer does to our lives. On top of it all children meet and interact with each other through various activities and play. All this makes children feel belonging and they love each other as children of the same family. This is possible because of the loving teachers who are there, supporting these children during school days.

Children do not only receive education at For a Change nursery, but also food which brings good health in their bodies. A well balanced diet food is given to them daily during school days, which makes children’s development to be complete. Most of these children are not able to get such kind of food from their homes, because they are disadvantaged.

For a Change nursery is a home where broken and helpless children are mended, and given necessary help, which will help them grow and be valuable individuals God made them to be in the near future, for their village as well as Malawi as a nation.

Being a teacher at For a Change is the best thing ever, as I see daily how children are being transformed and grow beautiful. Reports from parents come on how improved their children are and some even teach their families how to pray every time.

In conclusion: For a Change Nursery is a life saver to children who were perishing at Kwanjana, in Thyolo district.
